The rubble dump proved to be relatively stable between 2015 and 2017. Already on 12.7.2015 the rubble mound should have been almost ice-free. The distance from the place of shooting to the iceberg was much longer than it looks like in the photo.

The process described in this story has been repeated several times in recent years. Thus the Gamchi glacier lost its length and mass dramatically. There is no sign of a turnaround.
