11.07.2021: This picture was taken on the way back from the glacier. It was taken because the weather forecast predicted cloudy weather in the afternoon. In the previous visits, the photo is taken on the approach to the Hohlicht glacier.
This comparison shows the large area of dead ice (width approx. 300-350m) at the foot of the Hohlicht Glacier. Dead ice front has retreated in the last three years and lost ice sheet thickness. At the back you can see that the glacier stream has found a new path. This is probably due to the melting of the Hohlicht Glacier.

Remarks:
1) On the photo from 2017, a large boulder can be seen in the front right, which was not there in 2015. In 2015, the rock was still above the ice wall on the glacier. Due to the melting of the ice the ice wall moved more and more backwards. So far, until the boulder slipped over the ice wall, rolled over the scree and was only stopped by the boulder, which lay there in 2015. The collision must have been pretty heavy: The 2015 block shows clear traces..
2) The 2017 photograph shows a person standing on a boulder. That's a size comparison.
