In the 2018 photograph, a person can be seen slightly to the right of centre (for scale). In the same photograph, there is snow in the foreground and, in the back left, a remnant of the snowy winter of 2017/18. This snow will have melted by autumn.

16.08.2016: The area covered by the lake was still under ice a few years before. Drainage was via an above-ground drain to the right. To be seen e.g. on the 2016 panorama photo of site 1.
