03.09.2020: The fine wafts of mist conceal the true extent of the ice loss. Especially in the central part, the Diechter glacier has lost a lot of thickness/mass in the last 15 years.
The maximum width of the Diechter glacier (Diechtergletscher) is about 520m. The horizontal distance from the photo location to the glacier is about 10.2km.
