Arc of ice
An arc of ice occurs when a meltwater channel in a glacier becomes ever larger, the glacier simultaneously retreats rapidly and a piece of ice loses contact with the glacier, or when parts of the meltwater channel collapse and the ice blocks melt away rapidly.
12-15m high arc of ice (Gamchi glacier)
A few months earlier the site was still covered by glacial ice and not accessible.
